My husband and I use to drive down for the 5K run and have the homemade vanilla ice cream and fresh peaches afterwards. It was ALWAYS worth the drive and the calories!

This takes me back to my childhood. My grandparents were from Arkansas and they always had peach trees. Fresh peaches, ice cream, cobblers and canned peaches were always a highlight of the summer. Thank you for the sweet reminder.

Spent many years as a child in Porter.. Grandad Todd was the town blacksmith and part time cop when they needed one.. We always canned lots of peaches.
