Jim Franklin was the artist, was also famous for Armadillo paintings (along with lots of other famous subjects) and as one of a group of artists who did an enormous amount of art for the Armadillo World Headquarters music venue here in Austin and I shared a big old house in down town Austin from 1980-1983. Long before I "settled down" ;-)
I think the Leon Russell home was sold to the Oral Roberts foundation but don't really know know...
